Compensation Overview
At NOVA Chemicals, our compensation philosophy is designed to support and motivate high performance. We define it as "Total Compensation" - the complete package of pay, benefits, profit sharing and other elements that reward employees.
Our Compensation Structure:
- Base Pay is the fixed dollar amount paid throughout the year. Base pay may increase with annual market adjustments, movement within the band range, or promotion/progression.
- Variable Pay is based on the achievement of established objectives with multiple levels of payout opportunities:
- Incentive Compensation provides the opportunity to earn awards based on achievement of results against pre-determined objectives.
- Profit Sharing payouts are contingent upon meeting or exceeding NOVA Chemicals' annual performance targets.
- Applause! is a program designed to foster a high-performance culture that is rich in recognition. Applause awards are given to recognize individual or team achievements.
